The ‘Arvard ‘Ardboyz is a miniature gaming club founded in Cambridge Massachusetts, originally in Harvard Square at the Games Workshop Battle Bunker. In 2007 the Battle Bunker closed it’s doors and the club found a new home one stop down on the red line at Pandemonium Books and Games in Central Square. This change of venue allowed the ‘Arvard Ardboyz to broaden its gaming hobby to include many of the newer miniature games that have become popular in recent years, while fostering a casual hobby focused environment, and helping expand the miniature gaming community.
The club is open to all who share a passion for miniature gaming. We meet every week on Monday nights. Feel free to come by and check us out!
Q: I want to come by and play a game, how do I set one up?
A: Simple! Just head on over to our forums. You will need to sign up if you haven’t already, this requires approval from one of us, so hang tight. (We hate spam bots and we hope you feel the same way). After you’re all signed up, just open up the Challenges section of the Forums. There should be a thread for each week with the date of that Monday and a snappy title. They usually look like “4/18/16 – Snappy Title Here.” Your best bet of getting a game set up is posting in here. No one likes to turn up on a Monday and not have a game to play.
Q: Are you affiliated with Harvard?
A: Nope! Our club used to meet at the Games Workshop store in Harvard Square, but we have no actual affiliation with the college.
Q: Are you an all boys group?
A: Nope! Everyone is welcome to be an ‘Ardboy. Our name reflects our fighting spirit and reminds us of our roots as a Games Workshop club.
Q: How do I join?
A: You can join by talking with one of our officers on a Monday night. But don’t worry, you don’t need to join up in order to come down and play some games. If you are looking to join, just ask for Sean or Bobby.
Q: Do you only play Games Workshop games?
A: Nope! We like playing a wide variety of games. Although our roots are in a Games Workshop store, we also play Warmachine/Hordes, Infinity, X-Wing, Kings of War, Dropzone Commander and more!
Q: What if I want to play a game that’s not on that list?
A: Then come play it! We are first and foremost a miniatures wargaming club, so if you have a game that involves minis that you collect, build, and/or paint then bring it on down! We’re always interested in trying a new game and we’ve recently added Wrath of Kings, Firestorm Armada, and Guild Ball to our gaming rosters.
